The Disruptive Tech Award recognizes disruptors and trailblazers leading the transformation of Federal and DoD IT. NetImpact’s Defense Health Agency’s Virtual Education Center (VEC) program is designed to become the new “source of truth” for patient educational information that can scale to the Millitary Health Systems’ (MHS) 9M+ beneficiaries. This rich virtual experience improves communication and collaboration between providers and patients while empowering patients through engaging self-education to achieve better health outcomes.
NetImpact and our subscontractor, CoherentRx, began prototyping VEC in September 2021 through the Training and Readiness Accelerator (TReX) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA). TReX is managed by NSTXL as an acquisition platform expediting the development, demonstration, and delivery of prototypes to increase Warfighter readiness.
OTAs are non-traditional contracting methods that can accelerate research initiatives and prototype innovation by increasing the flexibility of government and industry collaboration. OTAs enable innovators like NetImpact to fast-track virtual care capabilities towards MHS’ mission of a medically ready force and a ready medical force.
The prototype project includes full lifecycle support from research, design, development, test, and cybersecurity through deployment. The DHA VEC prototype will be piloted before full enterprise deployment and eventual integration with MHS GENESIS.
